ABOUT US
Tamer and Emad grew up in Egypt and they were fond of math and electronics since young age. They had no access to much resources back then but they would read anybook they can put their hands on that deals with math, electronics or computers. This interest led them to focus on engineering and eventually attend engineering universities in Egypt. They both wanted to continue their studies in electronics and applied to study for grad degrees in the US. Tamer and Emad then moved to work in the semiconductor industry and work on the design of advanced micro-chips that are using in highspeed data networks that server the internet revolution that we are experiencing today.b Tamer and Emad wanted to contribute back by helping young people from different backgrounds specially less advantaged youth with low access to mentoring in this field by providing them with the technology and training that they need to be contributors in the high tech age. This stems from their vision that with the huge advances in artifical intelligence and automation that we are currently experiencing, there will be less jobs for people without sufficient technical knowledge and this will hurt the less fortunate people with no access to this knowledge or training. They picked the name Averroes project inspired by the Andalusian thinker and philosopher Averroes (Ibn Rosh in Arabic) who flourished in diverse society in Spain where people from different backgrorunds and religions worked together to produce an example society and one that inspired the scientific englightment age in Europe.
